Going home from the hospital

I don't wanna go home!!!!!!!!!!  ( I can't figure out how to rotate the pic on this laptop!)

I spent 2 nights in the hospital (which was more than enough!!!).  Lil dude didn't seem to like his carseat when we put him in it for the first time.

Introducing Austin Joseph Orf!

Induction time!! Let's get this show on the road!!!!

'
Thought this was cute! The nurse wrote the plan for the day was "Have a baby!!"

I'm finally getting all these pics up!! Sorry for the delay!!! I'm going to have tons of pics to post in the next few weeks.

So I went to my appt on Mon Oct 28th thinking I was going to get induced. I already had it in my head that I was gonna have the baby that day. I get to my appt and of course my blood pressure is high. I forget now exactly what it was (maybe like 150/90 or something). So Dr G said that she was sending me over to the hospital to have the baby. I didn't cry or anything. With Kendy, I started bawling when she said I was getting induced.  But being a 2nd timer, I kept my cool this time. :) Plus I was mentally prepared this time around too. So Jay and I walk over to the hospital to get everything started. I answered their 10 gazillion questions they always have. (Also by this time my BP had actually went down).   Then they started my pitocin at 12:50. By 2:05, Dr G was coming in to break my water already. After she broke my water, my contractions starting getting stronger and I was getting a bit uncomfy after awhile. I asked the nurse if she'd check me to see how far I was dilated at that point. I was already 5-6 cm. (this whole thing was going so fast!!) So I asked for my epidural. ( at this point Kendall was at the hospital with us too) . That was about 5pm.  Love those things!!! After that, I couldn't feel anything!! Whoo-hoo!! At 6 pm, I was 9 cm dilated. and thought I was gonna have the baby pretty soon at that point. I ended up stalling at 9 cm for a couple hrs. Everyone was watching the St Louis Cards in the World Series at this point. Finally a little before 9pm, I was dilated to 10 cm and I was going to push. I didn't push for all that long and lil Austin was born at 9:20 pm at nite!! 6 lbs, 14 oz, 20.5 inches long.   He prlly would have been born sooner but we were waiting for my Dr to get there.    He had some fluid in his lungs when he was born so they were a bit concerned about that. He ended up going to special care for like 5 hrs.   As for the birth experience, this time was a breeze overall!! I did throw up a couple times. At one point, the baby needed oxygen when he was still in my belly and the plastic smell of the mask was making me sick, and then I got nauseous after giving birth too. But other than that, I wasn't feeling too bad. I was able to get rid of my iv's a few hrs after giving birth.  With Kendy, I was hooked up to them for over a day.  I was feeling pretty good the next day too. I was able to breastfeed Austin and that was going ok. So all in all, I'm happy with the whole birth experience!!  Almost 3 weeks later,  Austin is a really good baby overall. I hardly know he's around during the day except when he wants to eat and needs his diaper changed.  I've been pumping some milk for him and he eats formula too.  Kendall has been a great big sister. Almost overbearing at times. But she likes to pick out his outfit, give him bottles, check to see if his diaper is wet, give him paci's and hold him a bunch of times. Love those kiddos!!!! :)

37 weeks

Well, I had my appt yesterday and my bp was high again, 146/90 or something. So I had to be hooked up to the nst machine again. I had an internal exam and I'm 3 cm dilated now. Then I had a quick ultrasound to check fluids around the baby, that all checked out fine too. So I think at this point my dr isn't real sure what to do. I have no other preeclampsia symptoms at this point. She decides to send me over to the hospital and have my bp checked for a couple hrs, have blood drawn, urine checked again, all that. At this point, I'm just expecting to get induced at some point that nite. I was mentally prepared this time. So after 2 hrs, everything checked out, they said bp wasn't high enough to induce and that I could go home. I go back to the dr on Monday and I just have it in my head that I will prolly have this baby next week. Guess we'll see!

36 Weeks!! and on "Decreased Activity"

I never did post a 35 week pic from last week! Oh well, didn't take one either.     Anyway, I went to my Dr appt last Tuesday and I guess I had a lot of anxiety cuz my bp was like 150/110. So the nurse had me lay on my left side for a few min n then took it again, it ended up being less. Phew. So then I had to have an ultrasound to check on the baby n be hooked up to the nst (non stress test) machine. Everything came up fine though. But the dr put me on decreased activity til I deliver. So no more work for me! I had another appt last Thursday and bp was good again, I was hooked up to the nst machine again too. Then I had my 36 week appt yest. Bp was 124/80. I was on the nst machine again. I also had an internal and I'm 2 cm dilated, 50% effaced. So dr g doesn't think I'll make it to my due date.  Gretchen is due to have her baby next Friday via c section. So it's a race to see when I'll go into labor.

Preschool Pumpkin Patch Trip

Yesterday, was the trip to the pumpkin patch.   It was a bit warm though, who really wants to go to the pumpkin patch when it's 85 and humid?? All the kiddos were hot and one mom went and bought bottled waters for everyone. Overall, I think the kids had a fun time though.  It's kinda fun to look back at all the pics of Kendy at the punpkin patch since this is the 3rd and last year she will go there.

33 and 34 Weeks!

33 Weeks

34 Weeks

Went to the Dr yest. My BP was a little higher than normal, 120/80. It's usually about 117/70.  I'm still in the normal range for now. But I have to start going to the Dr weekly now to monitor it. Let's hope it stays in the normal range. I really don't want to get induced again. Baby's heartbeart was the highest it's been too, in the 150's.  Overall, I'm still feeling fine though.  :)

"Rascal, Wanna play school???"

Nice that my poor dog is involved with all of Kendall's shenanigans (she's lucky he's so tolerant). and yeah, he's a boy dog with a pink bow courtesy of Kendy.

32 Weeks!

Went to the Dr again yesterday. Everything is still fine. No swelling in sight! Hopefully it stays that way.  I got a prescription for my heartburn so I'm hoping that will help since Pepcid AC wasn't doing much for me.  This baby has been super active, kicking or punching me in the sides. Sometimes I'll let out an "Owwwwwww" and  Jay/Kendy will wonder what's wrong.

Selfies

Kendall likes to play with my phone and take videos and pics of herself. It's kinda funny to look at my phone and see all this random stuff that she's done.
