Induction time!! Let's get this show on the road!!!! |

Thought this was cute! The nurse wrote the plan for the day was "Have a baby!!" |
I'm finally getting all these pics up!! Sorry for the delay!!! I'm going to have tons of pics to post in the next few weeks.
So I went to my appt on Mon Oct 28th thinking I was going to get induced. I already had it in my head that I was gonna have the baby that day. I get to my appt and of course my blood pressure is high. I forget now exactly what it was (maybe like 150/90 or something). So Dr G said that she was sending me over to the hospital to have the baby. I didn't cry or anything. With Kendy, I started bawling when she said I was getting induced. But being a 2nd timer, I kept my cool this time. :) Plus I was mentally prepared this time around too. So Jay and I walk over to the hospital to get everything started. I answered their 10 gazillion questions they always have. (Also by this time my BP had actually went down). Then they started my pitocin at 12:50. By 2:05, Dr G was coming in to break my water already. After she broke my water, my contractions starting getting stronger and I was getting a bit uncomfy after awhile. I asked the nurse if she'd check me to see how far I was dilated at that point. I was already 5-6 cm. (this whole thing was going so fast!!) So I asked for my epidural. ( at this point Kendall was at the hospital with us too) . That was about 5pm. Love those things!!! After that, I couldn't feel anything!! Whoo-hoo!! At 6 pm, I was 9 cm dilated. and thought I was gonna have the baby pretty soon at that point. I ended up stalling at 9 cm for a couple hrs. Everyone was watching the St Louis Cards in the World Series at this point. Finally a little before 9pm, I was dilated to 10 cm and I was going to push. I didn't push for all that long and lil Austin was born at 9:20 pm at nite!! 6 lbs, 14 oz, 20.5 inches long. He prlly would have been born sooner but we were waiting for my Dr to get there. He had some fluid in his lungs when he was born so they were a bit concerned about that. He ended up going to special care for like 5 hrs. As for the birth experience, this time was a breeze overall!! I did throw up a couple times. At one point, the baby needed oxygen when he was still in my belly and the plastic smell of the mask was making me sick, and then I got nauseous after giving birth too. But other than that, I wasn't feeling too bad. I was able to get rid of my iv's a few hrs after giving birth. With Kendy, I was hooked up to them for over a day. I was feeling pretty good the next day too. I was able to breastfeed Austin and that was going ok. So all in all, I'm happy with the whole birth experience!! Almost 3 weeks later, Austin is a really good baby overall. I hardly know he's around during the day except when he wants to eat and needs his diaper changed. I've been pumping some milk for him and he eats formula too. Kendall has been a great big sister. Almost overbearing at times. But she likes to pick out his outfit, give him bottles, check to see if his diaper is wet, give him paci's and hold him a bunch of times. Love those kiddos!!!! :)
